Brand Identity: Organizer Zero’s Next Chapter
Building a brand that channels parent power and movement building energy into a national identity
Client Background
Organizer Zero is a national nonprofit founded by former educator and advocate Natasha Kamrani who saw the untapped potential of parents to lead transformative change in education. For a decade Organizer Zero has quietly equipped parents - primarily Black and Brown mothers and grandmothers - to build and sustain their own grassroots organizations for educational justice.
Through mentorship, community-building, and strategy Organizer Zero helps parents turn lived experience into leadership and local organizing power. From The Memphis Lift to emerging movements in cities like Atlanta, Fort Worth, and St. Louis, their model proves that when parents lead, systems listen - and shift.
The Challenge
For ten years, Organizer Zero intentionally operated under the radar, letting community leaders own their narratives and impact. But as the movement matured, the team recognized a need for a public-facing identity - one bold enough to inspire new parent leaders, yet grounded enough to preserve its authenticity.
The challenge: How do you brand a movement that’s intentionally decentralized?
Organizer Zero needed a visual and narrative identity that could hold tension—between love and disruption, grassroots and institutional, quiet power and radical action.
Our Approach
At The Shearer Group our first step is always to: listen deeply. Through discovery sessions with Organizer Zero’s founders, advisors, and parent leaders, we heard consistent themes connected to the org’s authentic heartbeat - shared humanity, radical honesty, and unapologetic power.
That clarity shaped our creative approach:
Discovery Rooted in Relationship: We led one-on-one and small-group conversations to surface the values, imagery, and tone that truly represent Organizer Zero.
Design with Movement in Mind: We crafted a bold, dynamic brand system - a logo, color palette, and typography - that evokes energy, action, and connection.
A Visual Language of Power and Care: Drawing inspiration from grassroots protest art and cultural design icons like Paula Scher, we created an identity that feels both revolutionary and modern - an emblem of collective strength.
Practical Tools for Impact: Delivered a full brand kit, including templates for communications and storytelling assets that empower Organizer Zero to build trust with funders and community partners alike.
Why It Matters
Organizer Zero’s new brand marks the first time this decade-old movement has stepped fully into the light. It honors their radical beginnings while giving them the presence, polish, and visibility to further expand their impact coast to coast.
The result isn’t just a logo - it’s a declaration. With this new identity, Organizer Zero can engage funders, connect organizers across the country, and transform the system from the inside out.
